Notice #EQ6 – New Vang Lever 29/07/25 | PDF

. The Vang Lever has been changed. This change was made approximately from March 2025. All sailors are entitled to a new one. Please contact your dealer. The new Vang Lever is distinguished by a "V2" that is displayed on the end as per the photos in the .PDF linked above. NB: Most boats do now have the new lever.

Notice #EQ5 – Head Protection Compulsory 29/07/25

. Head protection will be compulsory for all racing in all classes and divisions from 1 September 2025. Please see updated Class Rule C6.1(a)(ii).

Notice #EQ4 – Boom to Mast Connection 24/07/25 | PDF

. The Gooseneck Pin, when fixed in position at the front end of the boom, needs to be placed into the Gooseneck Pin Slot when rigging. While sailing the boom and Gooseneck Pin must be in that Gooseneck Pin Slot. The boom and Gooseneck Pin must not be placed above the Gooseneck Pin Slot. If the boom and Gooseneck Pin are placed above the Gooseneck Pin Slot, they will point load the mast and the bottom section of the mast will. We have observed damage to lower part of the mast because of this at Foiling Week. Please see the .PDF linked above to see the photos for more information.

Notice #EQ3 – New Forestay 24/07/25 | PDF

. The forestay has been changed. The upper swage fitting has been changed as per the photos (please see the .PDF linked above). It will be mandatory for sailors to use the new forestay at the 2025 Global Championship. We suggest to all sailors to change the forestay as soon as possible. Please contact your dealer. If you do not have access to a new forestay, inspect the original. If there are no excessive signs of elongation the part is likely still ok to use. If you are not near a dealer we will send you a new forestay directly.

Notice #EQ2 – Gooseneck Pin Change 24/07/25 | PDF

. The Gooseneck Pin has changed to a newer version. Please contact your dealer to receive the new version of the pin. The new and old versions of the pin are different but indistinguishable from one another from the outside. You must use the new pin and the new bolts and washers that come with it. Please dispose of the old pin immediately upon replacement to avoid confusion. Please see the .PDF linked above to see the photos for more information.

Notice #EQ1 – Clew Strap 24/07/25 PDF

. The steel rods that the Switch Clew Strap Bullets are made from are 8mm in diameter. The production tolerance on the steel rods is normally between 7.85 mm to 8.0 mm. We have observed one Clew Strap Bullet that would not fit into the 8 mm hole on the boom. The manufacturer has checked all of the pieces at the factory and found that some Clew Strap Bullets are up to 8.06 mm in diameter. Booms will now be drilled with 8.1 mm holes. Please check that the strap fits into the boom on the boat that you have. If it does not fit you need to run an 8.1 mm drill through the hole.

Notice #EV3 – Event Branding at Globals 24/07/25

. Please check the Switch Event Branding Rules on page 26 of the Class Rules. Event Branding will be enforced at the Global Championship. NB: The “Switch” typography logo that is applied on the bow of the boats at factory has been reduced in size to allow for the Event Branding Rules. It is compulsory to have a “Switch” sticker on the bow. At the 2025 Global Championships, the new smaller Switch stickers will have to be used. The small version of the Switch sticker will be made available for those who do not have them in addition to the sponsor sticker that go underneath.

Notice #EV2 – Divisions at Globals 24/07/25

. There will be the following Divisions at the 2025 Global Championships (subject to minimum number of entries in each): Switch 8.5 - Open Men - WW Men - U23 men. - Masters Men - Grandmasters Men Switch 7.5 - Open Women - FW Women - U23 women - U19 women - U19 men - Masters Women - Grandmasters Women The WW Men (under 75kg) and FW Women (under 62kg) divisions are opt-in. You will have to elect at registration if you would like to be included in one of those two divisions. Opting in or out of these will not affect your inclusion in the Open division ie you will always be in the Open division. It is a trust based system, weigh in will not be required. However, calibrated scales will be available on site. It is recommended for those close to the cut-off to check using the onsite scales. The jury may require a competitor in a FW/WW division to weigh in. Where a competitor falls within 1kg of the division limit (75-76kg for Men and 62–63kg for Women), that competitor will be permitted to stay in the WW/FW division but will be required to weigh in again the following day and be under the division cut-off (75kg/62kg). There will also be prizes awarded for Corinthians in Open Men and Women, WW/FW Men and Women, Masters Men and Women. We will be using the World Sailing "Corinthian" categorisation.
